Ford Racing's GT-40X Cylinder Heads Install - Hustle And Flow
One reason we prefer the GT-40X heads over others on the market is that we were able to retain the bolt-down-style Cobra 1.7:1 rocker arms that we previously installed. You still need to verify that they have the appropriate amount of clearance to the valvesprings and pedestal, and that they are properly tightened. FRPP recommends tightening them to zero lash (when there's no up and down slop, but you can still spin the pushrod) and then tighten them to 18-20 ft-lb. The bolt should turn somewhere between one-quarter to one full turn to reach that torque specification. If you can't turn the bolt that far, you may need longer pushrods. Turning past the full turn requires you to shim the rocker arms using the supplied shims. View Related Article
